Beverly White is a self-described Army brat, born in (West) Germany and reared in Central Texas. She spent 40+ years in TV news across 6 newsrooms and 4 states. Armed with a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin, White launched her career as a reporter/editor/photographer in Waco TX. She put down the camera & mastered breaking news reporting in San Antonio, Cincinnati, Miami & Los Angeles. In LA White covered wildfires and earthquakes, the deaths of Michael Jackson, Prince and Kobe Bryant, the George Floyd protests and the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022 she retired from journalism with multiple Emmys and Golden Mike Awards under her belt. White was also on the team at WTVJ Miami that won the 1993 Peabody Award for coverage of Hurricane Andrew. In 2018, the NABJ honored her with its Chuck Stone Lifetime Achievement Award. White now lives in Central Florida with her husband, a retired journalist. Their only grandchild lives with her parents nearby.
